Neil McQuiggan
WebMaster, Account Manager
Since 2014 Neil has been dedicated to his craft as a Master Website Builder and Account Manager at First Wave. Neil’s ability to troubleshoot complex issues and come up with creative solutions is a great asset to the team. His skills with computer programming, code developing and database designing have been a driving force to developing the infrastructure needed to support First Wave’s growing customer base.
Neil is a lifelong learner, passionate about keeping up with the changing demands of the world wide web, he also has a BSc Honours degree in Physics/Chemistry from Brock University.
Debbie Klonowski
Social Media Account Manager
Since 2018 Debbie has moved through the ranks at First Wave to Social Media Manager. Her 15 years of customer service experience, attention to detail, strong written communication, and exceptional organizational skills make her a valuable asset to the First Wave team.
Debbie is dedicated to lifelong learning, always expanding her knowledge, she is driven to keep up with the ever-changing world of Social Media. Debbie also has an Honours Medical Office Certificate from Sir Sandford Fleming.
Emily Hopkins
Junior WebMaster/Designer
Emily is an excellent student, has a deep love for art and creativity, which fuels her passion for design. She excels in various design programs and is a quick learner with strong problem-solving skills.
Emily is committed to teamwork and continuous improvement, always striving to expand her knowledge and abilities, we are thrilled to have Emily on the First Wave team! With future plans to attend Niagara College for Construction Engineering, she is dedicated to both her current role as Junior WebMaster/Designer and her long-term career goals.
Lynn Riel
Owner – SEO Expert, WebMaster
In 1997 Lynn launched First Wave on a part-time basis to pursue her passion of working with the Internet and designing websites.
Today Lynn oversees all of the day-to-day operations, delegates team workloads, and provides a multitude of client services and customer relations. Lynn is a Search Engine Optimization Expert, Graphic Artist, and seasoned Webmaster who is very hands-on and has a passion for helping businesses succeed on the web.
Lynn Riel is one of the pioneers in this industry, having started with the Niagara FreeNet back in 1994. Lynn worked as an award-winning computer instructor, course developer, keynote speaker and corporate trainer across the Niagara Region for 10 years. Specializing in the areas of Graphic Design, Website Development, Microsoft Office, and Internet-related courses. Lynn taught at the corporate and college level, in the classroom at Niagara College, Niagara FreeNet, Lifetime Learning Center, Fort Erie Adult Training Centre, and MicroAge. When online learning became popular in 2001 Lynn also taught online for colleges province-wide through, The Consortium of Ontario Learn, on the blackboard platform, via Niagara College. Lynn also worked part-time as a Development Officer at Niagara College for the MCSE and CISCO programs in 2001.
In 2006 Lynn stopped teaching to pursue First Wave on a full-time basis. Lynn worked alone for many years, but in 2011 First Wave had grown to the point where a team needed to be put into place to keep up with the demands of developing effective websites and promoting them online through search engine optimization and social media development. First Wave has grown into an Award Winning Website Design Firm, and is dedicated to customer service excellence and developing high-quality, cost-effective websites that are strongly optimized to perform exceptionally in the search engines.
As First Wave grew the team has been able to maintain a high level of customer service by developing infrastructure, organization systems and workflow to accommodate client needs. First Wave Website Management’s existing clients are always the top priority, the First Wave team is dedicated to constantly improving and honing skill-sets to meet the ever-changing demands of the world wide web. Lynn is very grateful to be able to wake up every day and work at a job she loves, serving other exceptional business owners, with a team of people who is dedicated, forward-thinking, and positive.
